Bandstand Complete.....ly modeled

Finished the model for the Bandstand in the Public Gardens.  Next semester I get to texture and put it in a proper setting

Elf Character

So I drew this on my birthday while I was a little drunk, and honestly its probably the best drawing I have done in my life (until I finish the revisions I have on the drawing).  After a few drink my and photoshop were good buddies and everything was going all gravy.
So the drawing is for a character I made for a DnD game I'm going to be playing, and despite what people have said, it is a dude.  I may have made it a little too androgynous on the first go.

Quick update

Just a quick update on the bandstand.  The polycount is going a little crazy, but I should be able to generate some low poly versions afterwards if needed.  2 days of work and all I need to do now is the roof and the stairs.  Pretty happy how with how its looking so far.

Halifax Bandstand

So I'm working on recreating the Historic Bandstand built for Queen Victoria in the Public Gardens here in Halifax.  Work is actually going really well, thanks in part to the information I got from Ron Burdock over at WHW architects, and Carry Vollick at Vollick, McKee, Petersmann.

Anyway, here is day one of work.

New Car

So I haven't posted anything for a while because I've been so busy with school.  Anyway, I spent today taking a break, sort of, working on a side project.  So check it out, the modeling is not quite done, need to put some finishing touches on it.

Oh, since I'm sure you don't know what car it is, its a Lancia Stratos.

Vacationing

So I made grandiose claims about posting things a few weeks ago, but then things got a little hectic with the end of term.  Then my week off kept me busy with the intensive relaxing I had to do, and by relaxing I mean I got sick for a week.  But, now classes are back on, and here is my demo reel from last term.  Included is the finished robot I said I'd post.

Bike Concept

So here is my last design assignment this term.  Initially it was supposed to be a normal motor bike, but as I messed around I found I really like the idea of a mono bike.  Anyway, here it is.

I'm just chock full of Character

It's finally done.  I like how most of the poses turn out, some more than others.  Anyway, in a week or so expect some final robot renders, minus textures, and then there will be a sci-fi motor bike of some kind coming down the pipe.  But for now....

Artistic Progress goes.... Zip zop bippity bop?

If only this were something as interesting  as a post about the Jell-O pudding snacks, but it's not.  It's more stuff from my character design, 2nd last post about it, I promise.  After finishing this, I'll be rushing to finish my Robot model.

I'm reasonably pleased with myself on these, god knows I sunk enough time into working on them.  You know, I think I'll have to think up a name for her at some point.

Baby Steps

I've been working on yet another character design project.  This time it's an actual human character... well unless you cant bionic body parts.  It has been a time consuming task master for me, drawing is not my forte.  Having said that, I'm actually reasonably pleased with myself so far.  I wouldn't call it good by professional standards, but for my level of skill I don't think I did too bad.

Well here she is, and now back to more drawing and clean up.

Proxy Robot

So this is the final proxy model for my robot concept.  I'm fairly pleased with how it looks at this point.  There are some areas I'm going to need to take a closer look at as I do the drawings for the final character pack in the next few days.

The train of progress keeps rollin'


Work keeps going apace, which is sadly behind schedule.  So instead I have some ZBrush sculpts I did last semester.  To the right we have a Hyneman, and a Remorhaz.  Which one is which, who knows!?!

Next up, a finished Robot Design.... Hopefully.

This legs were made for some abstract reason...

I told you I spent too much time on the legs.  Actually turned out pretty well rendering AO with default physical sun and sky on.  I'll have to remember that for lazy rendering.

Drawing failure; Design Success?


So I'm working on a robot design for character design class.  Drawing isn't exactly my forte but I like to think I can put together some decent layout drawings.... which is what these are.

I'm liking his big beefy legs a lot.  I should probably spend less time on them really.

I'm working on proxy modeling it right now so that I can actually draw it up and give it lots of added detail for the final model.

I'll be posting some of that later.
